Erin
Owens
Executive Director
Erin
Owens is the Executive Director and a founding member of
DFW First. Erin is the Director of
Information Technology for
Equity Bank and is a member of the leadership
committee for
RPC First. He
is the DFW First delegate to Dallas County, Denton
County, and FEMA region VI.

Edward Sedacca
Chairman
Ed Sedacca is the Chairman of
DFW First and Chairman and
CEO for Equity Bank. |

Dennis Hines
Vice Chairman
Dennis Hines is the Vice Chairman and a founding member
of DFW First. Dennis is the Director of Information
Technology for United Central Bank and is the DFW First
delegate to the NCTFS (North Central Texas Fusion
System) and (FSSCC) Financial Services Sector
Coordinating Council.

Brett Borre
Treasurer
Brett Borre is the Treasurer and a founding member of
DFW
First. He is the Controller for
Colonial Savings Bank.
Brett sits on the Tarrant County EOC Users Group for DFW
First.

Jerry Knight
Secretary
Jerry Knight is the Secretary and a founding member of
DFW First. Jerry is the Vice President of Business
Continuity for Comerica Bank and is the DFW First
delegate to the regional COG (Council of Governments).

Roles And
Responsibilities
The
appointment and/or election of
DFW First Officers are defined within the corporate
bylaws. Additionally, the criteria for succession
and terms of office are outlined within the Bylaws. Roles and
responsibilities for each officer are as follows:
Chairperson
The
Chairperson is elected by the Board of Directors and, per
DFW First Bylaws, serves
a one year term. The Chairperson is responsible for:
-
Presiding over all meetings of the Board of Directors with
the right to vote
-
Receiving and acknowledging communications, petitions, and
requests on behalf of the Board. All communications,
petitions, and requests shall be transmitted to members of
the Board.

Keeping the Board focused on the
DFW First mission,
vision, and goals
-
Determining and formulating agenda items for Board meetings
with the assistance of the Board Vice Chairperson, Board
Executive Director, and taking into consideration
committees' recommendations and/or member requests.

Delegating assignments and duties to other Board members.
-
Signing and approving business matters of the Board, and
managing the matters of the Board.
Vice
Chairperson
The Vice
Chairperson is elected by the Board of Directors and, per
DFW First Bylaws, serves a
one year term. The Vice Chairperson is responsible for:
-
Assisting
the Chairperson in achieving the mission, goals, and
objectives of the organization.
-
Presiding over all meetings of the Board of Directors in
absence of the Chairperson, with the right to vote.
-
Assuming the duties of the Chairperson during his/her
absence.
-
Acting
as a liaison between the Board of Directors and all special,
temporary, or regular committees and task groups.
-
Delegating assignments and duties to all committees and task
groups on behalf of the Board of Directors.
Secretary
The
Secretary is appointed by the Chairperson and, per
DFW First Bylaws, serves a
one year term. The Secretary is responsible for:

Managing, maintaining, retaining written correspondence for
DFW First
-
Recording meetings, events, and activities performed by
DFW First
-
Recording and disseminating meeting minutes
-
Preparing and delivering an annual organizational activity
report to all attending members
-
Managing relationship with Board approved general legal
council
Treasurer
The
Treasurer is appointed by the Chairperson and, per
DFW First Bylaws, serves a
one year term. The Treasurer is responsible for:

Managing and recording organizational accounting including
books, funding, membership dues, and expenditures
-
Compiling and presenting a regular financial report to the
Board of Directors
-
Preparing and delivering an annual financial report to
report to all attending members
-
Overseeing fund raising activities and collection of
membership dues.

Managing relationship with Board approved accountant
Executive Director
The
Executive Director serves at the pleasure of the Board of
Directors and per the DFW First
Bylaws, has been hired by the DFW First. As a
DFW First Officer, the
Executive Director also serves on the
DFW First Board of
Directors. The Executive Director serves as the primary
managing officer for DFW First
and serves as the DFW First’s Chief Operating Officer. The
Executive Director is responsible for:

Championing the mission, goals and objectives of DFW First
-
Managing the day-to day operations of the corporation
-
Overseeing growth and management of the corporation and of
the corporation’s membership base
-
Presiding over membership meetings and responding to
membership needs
-
Implementing policies and procedures adopted by the BOD
-
Ensuring operating compliance in accordance with
DFW First adopted
Bylaws, Policies, and Operating Rules.

Preparing and managing the annual operating budget
-
Managing the DFW First
corporate communications including the corporate web
site
-
Developing, editing, and distributing the Quarterly
Newsletter
-
Delivering public presentation on behalf of the company
-
Business Development activities including soliciting
membership, fundraising, and, subject to Board approval,
establishing membership dues and benefits.
-
Public
Relations including serving as the official spokesperson for
DFW First.
