About DFW First serves 16 regional counties and is aligned with the Texas Governor’s Division of Emergency Management (Texas Disaster Districts), North Central Texas Council of Governments (COG) , and the North Central Texas Fusion System. DFW First, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation founded BY regional financial institutions FOR regional financial institutions to collaborate on business continuity and homeland security matters with the public sector. Founder institutions include:
DFW First Board Members are also Officers of the corporation. Officers have specific roles and responsibilities within the organization. The DFW First organization is also comprised of very valuable and prestigious members, partners/sponsors and participants. DFW First is one of many financial sector coalitions established or establishing throughout the United States to facilitate and implement regional public/private sector partnership initiatives. DFW First has been modeled primarily after Chicago FIRST, although there are also many differences between the two organizations. Regional Partnerships are a critical component of the partnership architecture establishing local and regional relationships with first response agencies.
